Abstract

This research article delves into the complex issue of woman trafficking, examining key provisions of international legal frameworks and conventions aimed at addressing this human rights violation. The article analyzes provisions from The United Nations Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons (Palermo Protocol), the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings, and the African Union Convention on Preventing and Combating Trafficking in Persons. The discussion encompasses the definition of trafficking, protection of victims' rights, prevention measures, prosecution and punishment of perpetrators, gender-sensitive approaches, and international cooperation. Scholarly works such as books and research articles are referenced to provide additional insights and perspectives on these key provisions. The analysis underscores the importance of a comprehensive approach that includes prevention, protection, prosecution, and cooperation in combating woman trafficking. While progress has been made, challenges persist, necessitating continued research, collaboration among stakeholders, and victim-centered approaches to effectively address the complexities of woman trafficking and uphold the rights and dignity of trafficked women worldwide.
